news-category: Performing Arts Ҵý Concert Choir Presents ‘You are My Sunshine’ By Office of University Communications On March 3, 2025 Free Program on March 4 Celebrates Music from the Word’s Various Cultures and Carnival Traditions BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—The Ҵý Concert Choir’s Spring Concert, “You Are My Sunshine,” on Tuesday, March 4, is a celebration of music from the world’s various cultures and carnival traditions with selections from New Orleans, Rio de Janeiro, Venice, and others. The free program features folksong arrangements as well as works by Western masters like Robert Schumann and Antonio Vivaldi. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in Dover Chapel. The Concert Choir and Director Dr. Joshua Cheney have just completed their Spring Tour of the North Carolina foothills, having performed in five churches in Gastonia, Newton, Hickory, and Marion. The music for Tuesday’s concert will be lively and entertaining. “The audience can expect an exciting evening with diverse selections,” Cheney described. “Our goals are to make excellence music together, to engage with our audience and to have fun!” University Communications Intern Chloe Cloutier contributed to this story.
